Very often, food remains in the refrigerator, from which you can cook a simple and tasty dish. For example, potato cutlets with herring. It is not difficult to prepare them, and dinner for households will turn out to be spicy and satisfying.
It is necessary
- - boiled potatoes - 4 pcs.
- - herring - 1 pc.
- - onion - 1 pc.
- - butter - 100 g
- - egg - 1 pc.
- - cheese - 50 g
- - breadcrumbs
- - flour - 4 tbsp. spoons
- For the sauce you will need:
- - 1 glass of broth
- - 1 glass of sour cream
- - 50 g butter
- - 1 tbsp. a spoonful of flour
- - salt, ground pepper, herbs to taste

Step 1
Soak the herring, peel, remove the bones and remove the skin, then chop finely. If desired, you can skip it through a meat grinder.

Mash the potatoes with a fork until smooth. You can use a float, preferably with a fine notch.

Finely chop the onion and fry in butter until soft and golden brown.
Step 4
Separate the yolk from the protein. Combine grated potatoes, fried onions, herring, add grated cheese, pour in egg yolk. Gradually add flour to the mass, achieving the desired consistency for gluing and forming cutlets.
Step 5
Form cutlets. Beat the egg white until frothy. Dip each cutlet into whipped egg white, roll in flour or breadcrumbs and fry in a preheated pan until a delicious brown crust forms.
Step 6
Herring potato cutlets are served with sour cream sauce.
Step 7
How to make the sauce. Fry the flour in oil until golden brown. Remove from the stove and gradually, while stirring, pour in the broth. Put on fire, add sour cream, pepper, salt and boil a little more. Add greens to the finished sauce.
