Among the well-known and popular seafood that have recently appeared on the table of Russians, shrimp occupy a special place. And by the high level of the presence of useful substances in them, and these small-sized representatives of the order of decapod crustaceans can rightfully be called a "storehouse" of minerals and vitamins, and by a fairly low fat content.
Instructions
Step 1
First of all, you need to make the right choice. Experts advise buying shrimp in special stores, just remember that these crustaceans should look fresh and attractive, and smell like the sea. Black spots and white dry spots on the shell, a shriveled and “dry” appearance, black rings on the legs and yellow (or grainy) shells are signs of improper storage or spoilage of the shrimp. So, you shouldn't buy them.
Step 2
Boil the shrimp in salted water for no more than 5 minutes before freezing, otherwise the meat will become tough. Place food in a colander and let cool. Prepare the frosting at this time.
Step 3
For one kilogram of shrimp, boil 1 liter of water with two teaspoons of food starch. Leave this solution to cool at room temperature for an hour. As a result, you should get a thick, transparent liquid.
Step 4
Dip the cooked shrimp in the cooled frosting and tip over again in a colander placed over an empty container (you can use the same saucepan in which the frosting was cooked). Let the excess liquid drain and dip the shrimp in the frosting again.
Step 5
A fairly dense layer of glaze should form on the shell, which will ensure the safety of crustaceans. If you plan to store the shrimp for a long time or think that the storage conditions may not be favorable enough, then make as much glaze as possible.
Step 6
Place the covered shrimp on a tray or baking sheet and place in the freezer for 30 minutes, after which remove the baking sheet and shake gently. The shrimp should freeze and easily peel off the surface. Now they can be poured into a container or bag and sent for further freezing and storage.
