Pasta casserole with minced meat, cheese and tomato sauce. Basically, ziti pasta casserole is a simplified version of lasagna. Instead of lasagna sheets, there are tubular pasta called ziti, stacked in a row. A hearty and delicious dinner for the whole family.
It is necessary
- For ten servings:
- - 1.5 liters of tomato sauce;
- - 500 g ziti pasta;
- - 500 g lean ground beef;
- - 150 g soft cheese;
- - 150 g mozzarella cheese;
- - 1 onion;
- - 1, 5 glasses of sour cream;
- - 2 tbsp. tablespoons of grated parmesan cheese.
Instructions
Step 1
First, boil the ziti rolls in salted boiling water for 8-10 minutes (see the instructions on the packaging of your pasta). After that, fold them in a colander, let all the water drain.
Step 2
In a large skillet or saucepan, brown chopped onions and lean ground beef over medium heat. Add tomato sauce and simmer for 15 minutes. Ready-made tomato spaghetti sauce is usually sold in 750 ml cans. But you can stew the minced meat with onions in a mixture of water, tomato paste and spices to taste. Alternatively, you can make your own tomato sauce using fresh tomatoes.
Step 3
Coat a baking dish with butter, put the prepared ingredients in layers: first, half of the boiled pasta, then slices of soft cheese, sour cream, half of meat tomato sauce, again half of the pasta, mozzarella cheese, cut into slices. Fill all this with the rest of the tomato-meat sauce. Sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese on top. Place the dish in the oven.
Step 4
Ziti pasta casserole is cooked for about 30 minutes at 180 degrees in the oven. During this time, the cheese should be well browned. Serve this hearty casserole hot.
