The products for this salad are quite simple, but having tasted it at least once, both the home and the guests will understand that it is perfect and will definitely ask you to cook it again and again.

The undoubted advantage of this salad is the pomegranate. Since time immemorial, pomegranates have been called the king of fruits. According to legend, it was the pomegranate with its characteristic rim on the dome that prompted people to form the royal headdress. Although today it is known for sure that a pomegranate, like a watermelon, is a berry. But the impeccable reputation of the pomegranate does not allow to cancel the royal status because of such an absurd inaccuracy.

Ingredients

The salad contains chicken fillet (or "salami" sausage, beef) - 1 breast (220 gr.), 2 potatoes (220 gr.), 1 onion (120 gr.), 2 beets (250 gr.), 100 g of hard cheese, 2 pomegranate, 200g mayonnaise.

How to choose

The pomegranate in the salad perfectly revives the taste and gives a unique aroma. But many people don't like seeds in grains. Look at the nearest market - you will definitely find a seedless pomegranate variety at the merchants, or rather, the seeds are still present, but they are so delicate that they do not bother at all. This garnet is just what your "star" needs. When choosing a pomegranate, remember that ripe berries are bright or dark red, and there should be no cracks or dents on their skin. Do not forget to take a closer look at the flower - it looks like a crown. In a mature pomegranate, all the petals of this flower are dried.

Preparation

Boil the chicken breast (salt water to taste). Refrigerate and chop finely. Wash and boil the beets and potatoes. Grate the peeled vegetables. Beets - small, potatoes - large. Peel the onions, cut into cubes and sauté until golden brown in oil over medium heat.

On a flat dish, place a layer of potatoes in the shape of a five-pointed star. Cut the flesh of chicken or sausage into small pieces. To make the chicken fillet plastic, stir in mayonnaise.

Transfer the chicken to the potatoes. Lay a layer of onion on top. Brush with a continuous layer of mayonnaise. Sprinkle the grated cheese evenly over the salad. Then the beetroot layer. Smooth the beets and place them on top and on the sides of the "star". Peel the pomegranate. Spread the pomegranate seeds around the edge of the "star".

In this form, the rich color of the beets is beautifully emphasized by the color of the pomegranate seeds. However, if you like the garnet color more, then you can lay out the entire surface of the "star" with ruby grains.

Serve the salad chilled, it goes well with liqueurs and wines!
