Traditional Bulgarian salad eaten from a large bowl. It is offered for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Shopska salad is best suited as an appetizer to the strong Balkan drink rakia.

It is necessary

  • - fresh cucumbers 100 g;
  • - feta cheese 50 g;
  • - onions (preferably red) 50 g;
  • - parsley 10 g;
  • - olive oil to taste;
  • - sweet green pepper 50 g;
  • - tomatoes 100 g;
  • - vinegar a few drops.

Instructions

Step 1

Sweet green pepper, it is from this that a real Shopska salad is prepared, wash. Rinse tomatoes, cucumbers under running warm water. Then pat dry with tea towels.

Step 2

Prepare a heavy-walled, non-stick skillet or cast iron skillet. Put it on fire, heat it well.

Step 3

Put the pepper on a hot skillet, press it down with a lid. Fry the vegetable on all sides until charred. Then put the pepper in a bag, tie it up. After 4-5 minutes, free the peppers from the skins, seeds, cut the pulp into cubes. Place the peppers in a salad bowl.

Step 4

Cut the cucumbers into small pieces or cubes. If the cucumbers have a tough skin, remove them. Chop the tomatoes into large cubes, it is better if the tomato is fleshy. Peel the onion, then chop into cubes. Put prepared vegetables with peppers.

Step 5

Chop the parsley with a sharp knife. Combine with vegetables, stir. Season the salad with olive oil, add a few drops of vinegar, stir.

Step 6

Grate cheese or chop it by hand.

Step 7

Divide the Shopska salad into portioned plates, and on top of each portion, put the grated feta cheese. Offer ground pepper separately.
