Sometimes rice remains after cooking. You don't need to throw it away, because the leftovers are sweet. From already boiled boiled rice, you can quickly make sushi, hedgehogs, stuffed peppers, casseroles, meatballs and much more.
Hedgehogs
If you have boiled rice left over, make Hedgehogs out of it. Take for a glass of boiled grains:
- 300 g minced pork and beef;
- 1 egg;
- 1 medium head of onion;
- 2 tbsp. tomato paste;
- 200 g sour cream;
- 2 sprigs of parsley;
- salt.
Chop the peeled onion as small as possible or rub it gently on a fine grater. Put rice, minced meat, onion in a bowl, add egg, salt, mix well. Dip your hands in water and shape into round meatballs the size of a chicken egg. Next, you can boil or bake the Hedgehogs.
If you choose the first method, put the rice balls in a saucepan, pour boiling water into it. It needs so much that it does not reach the top "Hedgehogs" by 4 cm. Make the sauce. After mixing sour cream with tomato paste, add a couple of parsley sprigs to the broth. Salt the water, remove the foam, simmer over low heat for 20 minutes.
To cook "Hedgehogs" in the oven, place them on an oiled baking sheet, pour in the tomato-sour cream sauce, remove the baking sheet in the oven preheated to 190 ° C for 25 minutes.
You can use the same minced meat for making stuffed peppers, cabbage rolls. To make the latter, cut the leaves from the cabbage, immerse them in boiling water for 2 minutes. Cool, put the minced meat, wrap the sheet from the sides, then - 2 times in half. Tie each cabbage roll with white thread, place in a wide saucepan, simmer in water with sauce for 25 minutes. Cut the threads carefully before feeding.
Sweet dishes
In hot weather, the soup will freshen up, in which you can put the leftover rice. If you already have a cooked compote, then you will make this dish in a minute. Place 2 tablespoons in a plate. boiled rice, fill it with 250 grams of compote. Light sweet soup is ready. If there is no compote, prepare it with dried fruit or fresh fruit. For the latter, take:
- 1 apple;
- 2 pears;
- 150 g of dried apricots;
- 100 g of raisins;
- 2 plums;
- 1.5 liters of water;
- 2 tbsp. Sahara;
- 1 tbsp. starch.
Put the water in a saucepan on a fire. When the liquid boils, put the washed raisins and dried apricots, let them cook for 15 minutes. Then add the pears, apples and plums cut into squares, add sugar, keep on low heat for another 10 minutes. Dissolve the starch in 50 g of water, immediately pour a thin stream into the compote, stir vigorously for 20 seconds, turn off the burner. You can pour the rice in a bowl with hot or cooled compote.
Sweets will also like rice balls with cottage cheese. To prepare them you will need:
- 1 glass of boiled rice;
- 1 egg;
- 3 tbsp. Sahara;
- a pinch of vanilla;
- 100 g of cottage cheese;
- 4 tablespoons flour.
Mix all the ingredients, mold the balls from the mass. Dip each product in flour, fry in oil in a pan on both sides until browned.
