For me, accustomed to being slim, it was very unusual and unpleasant to count my chins in photographs, to be ashamed of the body on the beach, to get used to shortness of breath … I simply did not recognize myself in the mirrors - some strange fat aunt was looking at me! I limited myself to food, tried dieting and exercise. Kilograms have not thought to leave me for several years. And now, when I was completely desperate, I was saved … by the love of animals!

In six months of veganism, I shed more than 30 extra pounds and regained my wonderful figure. In addition, my heart stopped hurting, venous "asterisks" on my legs completely disappeared (which I could not heal for twenty years), my memory improved (now I even remember all my dreams in the morning), terrible pressure drops disappeared (before I could faint fall due to low pressure, and now the weather does not affect me in any way) … And, what was most surprising for me, menstruation, which used to come exclusively of my own free will (once they were not for six months) and incredibly painful, began to come as if hours! Every month, on the same day and nothing hurts! (about an hour only unpleasant sensations at the very beginning and that's it).

My discoveries after switching to veganism:

1) Losing weight is very easy! How some vegans (especially athletes) maintain and gain weight is a mystery to me. Probably, they just somehow make up their menu in a special way.

2) The easiest way to go vegan is by watching thematic videos on the Internet (for example, on social networks) about what actually happens in slaughterhouses, fur farms, etc. Any mentally healthy person (who does not enjoy the sight of someone else's pain) and one who has even a small degree of conscientiousness after viewing will not be able to enjoy the fruits of such bullying.

3) A few years ago, giving up meat seemed incredible to me. "What then is there?" - I thought. Today in my diet there is no meat, fish, milk, honey and eggs, and I understand that there are still a huge number of delicious dishes in the world that I have not tried (but I intend to).

4) When switching to vegetarianism, the body is cleansed of toxins and toxins, and this raises immunity very well.

5) Vessels are really strengthened. And this affects not only the health of the veins, but also the heart, memory, pressure, and more. In this regard (among other things), endurance increases and well-being improves.

6) Additional sources of vitamins are not needed (I used to eat them) - the body perfectly absorbs everything it needs from plant foods. There is no deficiency of protein, iron and other trace elements (as they usually like to scare), if the diet is properly composed. But, of course, problems cannot be avoided if you chew only bread, potatoes and pasta all day.

Difficulties

1) A body that eats meat, fish, eggs and milk cannot absorb trace elements from plant foods as well as a vegan. It takes time to adjust, so keep a close eye on your diet, especially in the early days after the transition. I gradually gave up: first from meat, after a year - from fish, after six months - from milk, honey and eggs, while significantly expanding the range of plant foods in my diet.

2) When you come to an ordinary grocery store (there are no vegetarian ones in our city yet), the choice of products is small, and in catering establishments (especially in small towns) there is generally sadness. But you gradually get used to it.

3) Going to general holidays (birthdays, weddings, etc.) at first looks like a small test.

But, believe me, all these difficulties are worth the result!

Advice

1) There are a lot of recipes for interesting vegan dishes on the Internet. Try to cook a new dish every day, do not be afraid to experiment!

2) Join vegetarian communities on social networks - in them you will find a lot of new and useful things for yourself!
