Buns with poppy seeds - tender, aromatic and fragrant - have long been festive baked goods, and their taste is familiar from childhood. The recipe for making a sweet treat is simple. Bake them yourself and they will delight your loved ones.

It is necessary

    • 1 kg of wheat flour;
    • 2, 5 glasses of milk;
    • 1, 5 packets of yeast (Saf-moment for baking);
    • 3.5 cups sugar;
    • 100 g butter;
    • 1 tsp salt;
    • 1 glass of poppy seeds;
    • 1 glass of water;
    • 1 egg.

Instructions

Step 1

Take a poppy seed, rinse it thoroughly with cold water. Put it in a saucepan, add a glass of water, add 2.5 cups of sugar. Stir and place on the stove. Simmer the syrup for 15 minutes. Cool the mixture.

Step 2

Strain the poppy through cheesecloth or a fine sieve. Place in a bowl and drain the poppy syrup into a separate bowl and refrigerate.

Step 3

Take yeast, put it in a saucepan, add half a glass of milk, one tablespoon of sugar. Mix everything, cover with a napkin and place the container in a warm place for 20 minutes.

Step 4

Soften butter in a bowl until liquid. Pour the remaining milk into a saucepan and heat it over low heat until warm. Add prepared yeast, half flour and salt to it.

Knead a not very thick dough. Add butter, sugar, remaining flour and stir. When it is inconvenient to stir the dough with a spoon, place it on the table. Knead it until it comes off easily from your hands. Transfer it to a saucepan, cover again with a napkin and leave in a warm place. The dough should sit well within one hour.

Step 6

When the mass doubles in volume, crumple it again and cover. Remove after 40 minutes; the dough should be tender, smooth and well mixed. Mash it up and start shaping the buns.

Step 7

Divide the mass into pieces, form balls from them. Cover the items with a napkin and allow space. Roll all balls into strips 5 mm thick. Place a layer of poppy filling on each strip, smooth it out well. Roll the strips into small rolls. Press down a little on each roller to keep the buns wide. Form the top in the form of a bud.

Step 8

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Place buns on top of it. Beat the egg with water, grease the products. Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Place the buns and bake until golden brown for at least 30 minutes. They should be soft and delicate. Transfer the finished buns to a dish, cover with a napkin and cool. Serve with tea.
