Sweet crumbly biscuits with the sourness of garden berries - that's a real treat! Shortbread cookies "Berry bars" are very tasty, and thanks to the crystals of brown sugar, they acquire a pleasant caramel flavor.
It is necessary
- - wheat flour - 200 grams;
- - chilled butter - 100 grams;
- - brown sugar - 50 grams.
- For the filling, take:
- - brown granulated sugar - 50 grams;
- - black and red currants - 1 glass;
- - potato or corn starch - 1 tablespoon.

Step 1
Mix flour, butter, sugar into crumbs in a bowl, add ice water (four teaspoons) - you should get an elastic dough. Put in the refrigerator for half an hour.

Sort out the currant berries, remove the twigs, rinse, dry. Mix berries with starch and sugar.
Step 3
Divide the dough into two parts, roll a six centimeters thick sausage out of each, make a longitudinal depression in each bar with the edge of your palm - put the berries in it. You can sprinkle brown sugar on the top of the bars if you like.
Step 4
Bake the cookies for thirty minutes at a temperature of 200 degrees, the bars should brown during this time. Remove them from the oven, cool slightly, sprinkle with powdered sugar and cut into pieces of acceptable thickness. Enjoy your tea!
