Salt is a fairly important mineral for humans. But many people argue that salt retains water in the body, which leads to very harmful effects. Of course, salt has both beneficial and harmful properties for humans. So what is the harm of salt?
Many people consume salt in unreasonably large quantities, often much more than the body requires. Eating too much salt causes calcium to be flushed out of the body, damaging your teeth and skeletal system. Also, excessive salt intake leads to an excess of fluid in the body, and, accordingly, blood circulation in the brain decreases, and damage to joints and muscles is caused.
Salt provokes obesity, as it slows down the metabolism and, again, accumulates excess water in the body. From this, the volumes increase.
Salt will be especially harmful to those people who suffer from glaucoma, hypertension, obesity, heart disease and kidney disease. That is why people, especially those suffering from these diseases, should limit their salt intake.
In fact, this is not so difficult to do. For example, sauerkraut can be rinsed with water before eating - this will noticeably reduce the amount of salt. If you add dill or parsley, as well as other herbs and spices to food, then it will be much tastier and more aromatic, as well as healthier. Various sauces can be served with meat dishes. It is better to season boiled fish not with salt, but with lemon juice.
