We offer a recipe for a very homemade cake. An abundance of berries, a minimum of sugar and a tender, crumbly dough - this is all so harmonious, natural and incredibly tasty! And, importantly, making a cherry pie is very simple.

It is necessary

  • For the test:
  • - 600 g flour;
  • - 200 g butter;
  • - 150 g sour cream;
  • - 100 g of sugar;
  • - 25 g of starch;
  • - 11 g baking powder;
  • - 3 yolks.
  • For filling:
  • - 800 g of cherries;
  • - 700 g cherries;
  • - 1 yolk.

Instructions

Step 1

Chop the chilled butter with a knife along with wheat flour, then grind into fluffy crumbs, add starch with a baking powder for the dough. Mash egg yolks with sugar, mix with sour cream and add to flour. Next, knead the pie dough.

Step 2

Divide the finished dough into two parts (one should be smaller), cover with cling film, remove for 20 minutes to cool in the refrigerator.

Step 3

Prepare the baking dish: brush it with a lot of butter so that the cake does not burn and can easily be pulled out of it. Spread most of the dough over the bottom of the mold, going over the sides as well.

Step 4

Rinse the cherries, free them from the seeds, do the same procedure with the cherries. Spread the berries on top of the dough in an even layer without gaps.

Step 5

Roll out the smaller part of the dough thin enough, cut into strips with a curly knife. Place the strips of dough on the berries in the form of a lattice, and put the dough along the edge of the pie.

Step 6

Mix the egg yolk with 1 teaspoon of water and brush over the top of the pie. Place the dish in an oven heated to 180 degrees. Bake the Cherry Orchard pie for 40-50 minutes. The baked goods should be well browned on top. Serve the cake hot right away, or let it cool slightly without removing it from the mold.
