This recipe was given to me by my grandmother. She cooks very tasty and always comes up with something new. It turns out delicious and crispy cabbage. It can be rolled up in jars and left until winter.

It is necessary

  • - 1 small head of cabbage,
  • - 2 beets,
  • - 2 carrots,
  • - 4-5 cloves of garlic,
  • - ground chili on the tip of a knife,
  • - 5-6 peppercorns.
  • For the marinade:
  • - 1/2 glass of cold water
  • - 1 tbsp. l. salt,
  • - 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • - 1/4 cup vegetable oil.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut the cabbage into 2x2 cm cubes.

Grate carrots and beets. Pass the garlic through a press. Mix all this and put in a three-liter jar. Sprinkle chili on top and toss in the peppercorns.

Step 2

For the marinade, mix salt, sugar, water and vegetable oil, bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

Step 3

Add apple cider vinegar and pour the marinade into the jar. Mix well and leave in a warm place for a day, stirring occasionally. Then close with a plastic lid and store in the refrigerator.

Step 4

Any cabbage is suitable for such a recipe - both white and red cabbage. Red cabbage is a little harsh, but after pickling it becomes soft. And white cabbage is just made for pickling.
