Don't know how to surprise your family and friends? Try to cook khanum, a wonderful dish of Uzbek cuisine. This dish tastes like manti. The main advantage of khanum cooking is significant time savings. And if you take pita bread instead of the traditional dough, then the whole process will take no more than an hour.

It is necessary

  • - Minced meat (any) - 200 g;
  • - Small potatoes - 5 pcs.;
  • - Onions - 4 pcs.;
  • - Lavash;
  • - Ground black pepper;
  • - Salt;
  • - Vegetable oil for lubrication;
  • - A slow cooker or a saucepan with a colander.

Instructions

Step 1

Peel potatoes and onions. Cut the potatoes into small thin slices and chop the onions into quarters.

Step 2

In a separate bowl, combine the minced meat, chopped potatoes and chopped onions. Add black pepper and salt to taste. Mix everything well.

Step 3

Prepare a work surface on the table. Spread the pita bread and brush it with vegetable oil on top. Spread the filling evenly so that the layer is not very thick, without filling the edges of the pita bread. Now we need to form a khanum. Gently lift and wrap the side edges, and then roll the filled pita bread into a roll. Try not to move the filling in the roll, but at the same time, the roll should not be very dense.

Step 4

As a rule, khanum is cooked in a special steamer called mantis. But also this dish can be successfully cooked in a multicooker. Including a regular saucepan with a lid and a colander will do just fine. Consider the process of cooking in a multicooker. Pour water into the bowl. Carefully transfer the khanum roll into the basket-steamer and place it on top of the bowl. Close the lid of the multicooker and set the "Steam cooking" mode for 40 minutes.

If you are using a saucepan, then pour water into it as well. Take a large colander and put the khanum into it. Place a colander on top of the pot, cover and bring the water to a boil. After boiling, you can only slightly reduce the temperature. Khanum should be steamed with boiling water for 40 minutes.

Step 5

After the expiration of the time, transfer the ready-made khanum to a dish. Cut the roll into portions and serve with sour cream and chopped herbs. Also, sautéed onions in tomato sauce are very suitable for khanum as a dressing.
