If you need to cook something very quickly for dessert, aromatic cherry jelly would be the ideal recipe. It's a good idea to always have a package of pitted frozen cherries in the freezer for this case. Fresh cherries are fine too, but will require prior preparation. The amount of sugar and starch is selected individually, depending on preferences - more or less sweet, more or less thick.

It is necessary

  • For 6 servings:
  • - 300 grams of frozen pitted cherries or 500 grams of fresh;
  • - 6 glasses of water;
  • - 2-4 tablespoons of potato starch;
  • - 8-10 tablespoons of sugar;
  • - a bag of vanilla sugar - optional;
  • - whipped cream in a spray can for decoration.

Instructions

Step 1

Pour five glasses of water into a saucepan, bring to a boil, add sugar and, if desired, vanilla sugar, stir until completely dissolved.

Step 2

Pour frozen cherries into boiling sweet water; if the cherry is fresh, it must first be rinsed, dried and pitted. Bring to a boil and simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes.

Step 3

While the cherries are boiling, pour starch into a small ladle, pour a glass of cold boiled water and mix thoroughly until the lumps are completely dissolved. Slowly, in a thin stream, pour this mixture into a saucepan with cherries, stirring constantly. Bring the jelly to a boil (but do not boil it!) And immediately remove it from the stove. Cover and cool.

Step 4

Pour the jelly into bowls or glasses, decorate with whipped cream from a can, or sprinkle the surface of the jelly with granulated sugar.
