While you can find a lot of fresh fruits and berries on the shelves, you need to take advantage of the moment. It is not enough to enjoy fresh fruits throughout the summer, you still need to make a supply of vitamins for the winter. So be sure to make blueberry jam.
It is necessary
- - 1 kg of fresh blueberries;
- - 1 kg of sugar;
- - 3 g of citric acid.
Instructions
Step 1
Sort out the berries of fresh blueberries, rinse them thoroughly under running water. Then sprinkle the berries with granulated sugar, leave to infuse for 4 hours.
Step 2
Put a saucepan with blueberries and sugar on the fire, bring to a boil, stirring the berry mass from time to time. After boiling, cook for no more than 5 minutes, skimming off the foam as necessary.
Step 3
After that, remove the saucepan from the heat, leave for another 4 hours. Then bring to a boil again, boil the sweet berry mass for 5 minutes, leave to infuse again. So repeat 2 more times.
Step 4
When making the last jam, be sure to add 3 g of citric acid.
Step 5
Prepare small, clean and sterilized jars in advance. Pour hot blueberry jam into them, close the lids. Store jars of homemade jam in a dark, dry place, such as a closet.
Step 6
After cooking, the jam is ready for use, if you do not want to cook it with a reserve, then simply reduce the amount of ingredients. From the indicated amount, approximately six servings are obtained.
