Pea porridge with butter

A dish prepared according to this recipe is perfect as a side dish. Most delicious is porridge with grilled meat or grilled sausages. Separately, you can serve fresh or dried bread, as well as vegetable salad. If you want to make a lean meal, substitute vegetable oil for butter, preferably refined butter.

You will need:

- 2 cups dried peas;

- salt;

- butter to taste.

Soak dry peas in cold water for 5-6 hours. Then put it in a colander and rinse with running water. Lubricate the multicooker bowl with butter - this will save future porridge from burning. Place the peas in a bowl and cover with water. The liquid must completely cover the contents of the multicooker. Salt the mixture and set the "Porridge" or "Rice" mode on the panel. The dish will cook for about an hour.

Wait until the end of the cycle and let the multicooker release steam. Add butter to the finished porridge, stir and place on warmed plates. Serve hot. Keep in mind that the porridge cooked according to this recipe turns out to be quite steep. If you prefer a thinner consistency, add more water to the peas.

Pea porridge with chicken and vegetables

For a hearty meal, prepare a porridge with chicken, carrots and onions. Use chicken thighs or chicken breasts - it all depends on your taste. Instead of chicken for porridge, you can use turkey or lean pork.

You will need:

- 500 g of dried peas;

- 400 g of chicken;

- 1 onion;

- 1 carrot;

- vegetable oil for frying;

- salt and pepper to taste.

Soak the peas for a few hours. If you don't have time to soak, use crushed peas - rinse them well and drain them in a colander.

Rinse the chicken, remove the films, skin and bones, dry the meat with a paper towel and cut into small pieces. Pour some vegetable oil into the multicooker bowl, add the chicken and turn on the "Fry" mode for 10 minutes. Chop the onion into thin half rings, peel and grate the carrots. Attach the vegetables to the chicken and cook together for another 10 minutes.

Add peas to the bowl, add water, salt and pepper. The liquid should be 1.5 cm higher than the contents of the multicooker. Set the "Stew" mode on the panel and cook the porridge for 2 hours. Serve the finished dish hot, spreading it out on preheated plates. Sprinkle the porridge with finely chopped parsley.
