The recipe for cooking pea porridge with meat in a slow cooker
To make a tasty and satisfying dish, you will need the following ingredients: 1, 5 cups of dry peas, 3 cups of warm boiled water, 200 g of minced meat, 1 pc. onions, vegetable oil, seasonings, salt to taste.
Dry split peas must be washed thoroughly. And then soak in water, no matter cold or hot. Housewives disagree on whether it is necessary to do this before preparing the dish. Soaked peas are believed to have a richer flavor, slightly reminiscent of nuts. And also, if soaked, it cooks much faster. However, whether or not to leave it in the water for a while (up to several hours) is an individual decision of each housewife.
Then you need to peel the onions and chop them finely. Put in a multicooker bowl greased with vegetable oil and fry with minced meat for 15-20 minutes. This is best done in the "Bake" mode.
The water should be drained from the bowl with peas (if it was still soaked), and the peas should be put to the fried minced meat with onions. Mix everything thoroughly, add the necessary spices, salt to taste. And pour the whole mixture with warm boiled water.
Depending on which cooking mode is selected, pea porridge can be cooked from 20 minutes to 2 hours. Since almost all multi-cookers are different from each other, it is better to clarify this issue in the operating instructions for the kitchen device. In the section "Porridge" there should be recommendations regarding the mode of cooking peas, as well as the approximate cooking time.
At the end of cooking, the peas must be tasted for readiness. If it turns out to be a little harsh, then you can bring it to the desired condition in the "Heating" mode for 20-30 minutes.
