Shawarma is one of the most popular oriental dishes that you can enjoy right on the street. The shawarma filling is about the same everywhere: these are pieces of fried meat (lamb, beef, chicken) plus a salad of fresh vegetables. But the packaging for all this can be different. The Arabic version is pita bread, the Armenian version is lavash. Shawarma can be easily made at home.
It is necessary
-
- For 2 servings: 2 pita bread
- 400 g of meat (lamb or veal
- turkey or chicken fillet)
- 2-3 carrots
- 300 g white cabbage
- 2 cucumbers
- 2 tomatoes
- 2-3 cloves of garlic
- mayonnaise
- ketchup.
Instructions
Step 1
Fry pre-cut and marinated meat in a pan.
Step 2
Chop the garlic finely. Mix it with 5-6 tablespoons of mayonnaise. Fully unfold the pita bread on the table. Spread about a third of it with garlic mayonnaise.
Step 3
Chop cabbage and carrots finely. Put them on top of mayonnaise. Top - a layer of fried meat.
Step 4
Cut the cucumbers and tomatoes into thin slices. Place a few slices of each vegetable on top of the meat. Top with a little ketchup.
Step 5
Wrap both long sides of the pita bread inward. Do the same with the part of the lavash that is closest to the filling. Now gently roll the shawarma into a roll.
Step 6
Heat the resulting shawarma in a microwave oven (for a minute), or in a stove oven (3-4 minutes).
