Chicken is a fairly popular dish among Russian housewives. Light but satisfying meat has its own soft taste, which can be played with using spices and various sauces. The dryness of chicken when baking is solved in several ways, one of them is cooking chicken in a jar.

It is necessary

    • hen;
    • soy sauce;
    • honey;
    • seasoning for chicken (you can curry);
    • salt;
    • ground pepper and peas;
    • bay leaf 2 pcs.

Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the chicken carcass under running cold water, remove the remaining hairs with tweezers, dry it with paper towels.

Step 2

In a small bowl, combine 3-4 tablespoons of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of liquid honey. Stir the mixture thoroughly with a fork until the honey is completely dissolved.

Step 3

Rub the chicken with salt, black pepper and seasoning. Do it carefully - from all sides, from the outside and from the inside.

Step 4

Spread the honey and soy sauce over the chicken. It is advisable to leave it to marinate for a few hours. You can also marinate the chicken overnight and start cooking the next day. But if there is no time for this, you can skip this stage.

Step 5

Take a narrow-necked jar (for example, a 700-gram one). Wash and wipe dry. Pour 1/3 of its volume clean water into a jar, add 2-3 bay leaves and a few peppercorns to the water.

Step 6

Slip the chicken over the jar. Planting in this case is a rather complicated process, the main thing is not to rush. Use both hands to widen the hole in the chicken and slide it gently onto the jar. The chicken must sit firmly or it will fall off during cooking. Tie the wings tightly to the carcass, and tie the legs together. This will help prevent the chicken from burning in protruding areas.

Step 7

Get a frying pan, saucepan, or any other oven-safe utensil. Place a jar of chicken in the center, pour a small amount of water on the bottom. This technique will save the oven from burning fat, and your apartment from the child. The fat will drain into the water and will not harm either the dish or the apartment.

Step 8

Place the chicken in a cold oven, preferably on a wire rack. Turn on the oven 180 degrees and bake the chicken for about an hour and a half. Check readiness with a toothpick - pierce the carcass, if the juice is clear - it is ready. Do not allow a sudden change in temperature, the jar may not withstand. When the chicken is done, open the oven halfway and let sit for 15 minutes. And only then can the entire structure be taken out.
