Everyone knows that pomegranate is healthy, tasty, juicy. Pomegranate is a fruit, the seeds of which are protected by a peel, and it is quite difficult to get through to the cherished seeds without getting dirty or splashed with juice. Meanwhile, peel the pomegranate carefully, without splashing or crushing some of the seeds, perhaps.
It is necessary
Knife, container with water, strainer, colander
Instructions
Step 1
Carefully cut off the "crown" - the top of the pomegranate. Set aside.
Step 2
Feel the pomegranate lobes with your fingers and carefully, shallowly cut in these places the peel lengthwise, from top to bottom. A total of 4 or 6 longitudinal cuts can be made.
Step 3
Dip the pomegranate into a previously prepared container with cold water and break it into slices right in the water according to the longitudinal cuts. If you need a pomegranate in this form, i.e. slices, remove it from the container, let the water drain and put on a plate. If you only need grains, then, without taking the pomegranate out of the water, begin to separate the white films (skins). This is easy to do in water. In this case, the grains will settle to the bottom, and the skins will float.
Step 4
Remove the skins with a spoon or a strainer, tilt the remaining water with grains into a colander and let the water drain. Select the remnants of the skins from the grains, now they are ready for squeezing (if you are thinking of making juice), for decorating salads or cake, or just for use as it is.
