So that the jam is not only tasty and aromatic, but also does not spoil in the winter months, it must be cooked, strictly observing the recipe, trying not to overcook, in general, follow all the following rules:

  • choose fruits and berries of the same ripeness for jam;
  • do not use rotten fruits;
  • do not save sugar, always use it according to the recipe;
  • competently prepare jars for spilling jam.

Now with regard to spilling the jam into jars. Some housewives are convinced that this product should be laid out only hot, while others - only cold. In fact, both are right, you can pour the food at any temperature, but only the one that was cooked according to the classic recipe. That is, approximately the same proportions of sugar and berries were taken, and the dish was boiled to the desired consistency over low heat for 15 to 30 minutes.

Five-minute jam, which has recently become so popular due to its simplicity and speed of preparation, should only be placed in jars while hot. The fact is that a small amount of sugar is used in the recipe of such a dish, therefore, in order to avoid spoilage of the product during storage, it is important to properly sterilize the jars and lids before spilling, and hot jam is an additional sterilization of the jars.

In general, the jam can be stored for over a year. However, if it was cooked or poured into cans incorrectly, for example, poorly washed or poorly dried dishes were used, then the food will either ferment, or mold, or become sugar-coated.
