Long motorcycle rides are a fun and active pastime. Motorcyclists and their passengers are often thirsty but prefer not to stop. It is more convenient to carry the drink with you. Some motorcycles have a stand, while others do not.
Fortunately, with a small set of tools, you can attach a drink holder to your motorcycle to keep you thirsty on long rides.
To make a motorcycle drink holder you will need:
- store-bought glass holder;
- a tripod for a camera or GPS with a mounting bracket;
- long screw;
- Super glue;
- the Internet.
1. Select the size of the beverage holder that you need. They range from the smallest (for cardboard cups) to large (for the travel mug). Holders can be found in a variety of stores, including automotive stores, grocery stores, and gas station kiosks. You can also search the internet for shops that sell bicycle accessories and motorcycle parts. Many of these stores are likely to have beverage holders that can be attached to your motorcycle.
2. Find a screw long enough to fit through the camera or GPS tripod and screw the tripod to the fuel tank. Use a tripod or bracket that matches the curve of the fuel tank. These mounts and tripods are available at most electronics or photography stores. Slide the cup holder into the mount or tripod and secure it with super glue.
3. On small motorcycles and scooters, the cup holder should be installed in the middle of the handlebars. Also use the long screw when attaching the tripod or mount, but be careful not to hit any wires. Insert the glass holder into the fasteners and secure with superglue.
