It is easy to guess from the name alone that layered cocktails are drinks where the ingredients are arranged in layers, without mixing with each other. Such cocktails are referred to as digestifs - a means of promoting digestion. Previously, layered cocktails were taken at the end of a party to make it easier for the body to digest everything that went into it during the feast. Nevertheless, it is not recommended to abuse them.
Cocktail "Grand Canyon"
Structure:
- 15 ml of Crème de Cassis liqueur;
- 15 ml of Mint liqueur;
- 15 ml of White Crème de Ment liqueur;
- 15 ml of Chartreuse liqueur;
- 15 ml of pomegranate syrup;
- 10 ml brandy.
Pour the ingredients into a glass in layers in the following sequence: pomegranate syrup, Chartreuse liqueur, then Crème de Cassis and White Crème de Ment, then mint liqueur. Finally, pour in the brandy, do not mix.
Cocktail "Apple Pie"
Structure:
- 25 ml of Benedectin liqueur;
- 15 ml apple brandy;
- a small amount of cream.
Pour liquor into a glass in layers, then brandy. Place some cream in the center of the cocktail using a straw. Serve immediately.
Quicksand cocktail
Structure:
- 40 ml of gin;
- 25 ml of Peppermint liqueur;
- 20 ml of caraway tincture.
Pour gin in layers, followed by liquor and tincture. This cocktail should be drunk when the liqueur layer reaches the bottom of the glass.
Irish cocktail
Structure:
- 20 ml of Baileys liqueur;
- 20 ml brandy;
- 20 ml Wild Torquay whiskey;
- 30 ml of whipped cream.
Pour the listed drinks in the following order in layers: liquor, whiskey, brandy. Top with whipped cream on top, do not mix.
