If you've never opened a bottle of champagne before, try choosing an inexpensive variety for your workout. Open the first bottles at home. Be prepared for the fact that at first you will not succeed, the champagne may overflow.

The champagne you are about to open should be well chilled. This is necessary to reduce the activity of the gas contained in the beverage. The higher the temperature of the champagne, the more it will foam. Place the bottle in a bucket of cold water or ice 10 to 15 minutes before opening. The bottle can also be chilled in the refrigerator. Place it there for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Remove the foil that covers the neck of the bottle. In some bottles, it is enough to pull out a special tape for this, after which the foil can be easily removed. If not, proceed as usual by cutting out the foil with a knife. Your task is to release the wire mesh holding the bottle cap.

After removing the foil, you will find a wire that holds the plug. It has a small loop located on the side and twisted clockwise. Pull this loop down towards the bottom of the bottle and unwind it. Once the wire is loose, it can be removed. If the wire no longer holds the cork, it can be left on the bottle and removed with the cork. If the bottle is not cooled enough, the cork may spontaneously fly out. Try to keep your hand over the cork or hold it down as you remove the wire.

After the plug is released, the most important stage begins. Take the bottle in your right hand, wrap a towel around the cork with your left hand and hold it firmly. If you are opening a bottle at a gala event, make sure the towel is clean. Begin to twist the bottle from side to side, holding the cork tightly. This should be done slowly. Check the cork exit process so that it does not fly out too quickly.

Step 6

When the cork is almost removed, slow down the handling of the bottle. This will help you remove the plug without sticking out. Loosen control of the cork, but press down slightly. All this will help you to release gas without violent hiss and splashes. Make sure that the bottle is at an upward angle, otherwise you will pour the champagne after removing the cork. Once the cap has been removed, the bottle must be carefully returned to the ice bucket or served immediately.
