A delicious alcoholic cocktail can become a special feature of any party. To prepare it, you can follow the ready-made recipe, or use the general recommendations for making cocktails and achieve the bright taste of the original drink.

Step 1
The volume of the cocktail depends on the strength of the alcoholic components. For spirits, the traditional volume is from 50 to 100 ml. If it is supposed to add a small amount of alcohol with a low degree, then such cocktails are prepared in a volume of 100 ml or more.
Step 2
The number of cocktail ingredients should not exceed five (not including decorations). Otherwise, the taste of the drink will be spoiled. If all the ingredients are of high quality, then the cocktail as a whole will be first class. The ingredients should blend well and not drown out each other's flavors. Rum, whiskey, tequila, vodka, sambuca, wine or champagne are used as the main alcoholic ingredient making up 50% of the cocktail. Vermouth (martini, cinzano), bitter (picon, becherovka, campari) or liqueur (Baileys, Cointreau, Malibu, Kahlua) are added to give a special aroma to the drink. In addition, fruit and vegetable juices, mineral water, cola, lemonade, various sugar syrups, and cream are used as auxiliary components in the preparation of cocktails.
Step 3
There are several ways to prepare cocktails. The first method - build - consists in preparing a drink directly in a glass by overlaying several layers of ingredients similar in density. The second cooking option - stir (stir) - involves mixing the components in a separate glass, after which the contents are filtered and put into a drinking glass. This method is good in that all unwanted components (lemon pits, pulp, mint leaves) give off their taste, but do not get into the glass. Often a third option is used for making cocktails - a shake, in which all the ingredients are mixed in a special device (shaker). A shaker at home can replace a tight-fitting jar and crushed ice inside. If the cocktail contains such components as ice cream, ice, fresh fruit, then the fourth method is used for its preparation - blend - mixing or whipping with a blender.
Step 4
As a decoration for cocktails, you can use straws and curly stirring sticks, umbrellas. In addition, you can hang a slice of lemon, orange, pineapple on the edge of the glass, string an olive on a skewer, or add a cocktail cherry, a sprig of mint or lemon balm to the drink. Before pouring a cocktail into it, the rim of the glass can be decorated with a rim of coconut, sugar or salt, after dipping it in sugar or lemon syrup.
Step 5
An example of the above is the recipe for the popular refreshing Mojito cocktail. To prepare it, add two teaspoons of brown sugar to a mixing container (shaker) and pour in freshly squeezed lime juice. Send 2-3 sprigs of mint there and mash them a little until a strong smell appears. Then pour 30 ml of rum and 100 ml of mineral water with gases into a container. After adding crushed ice to the contents, close the lid and stir the ingredients. Pour the cocktail into a glass, garnish with lime, mint and serve to guests!
