It is difficult to imagine a drink similar in its beneficial properties to kombucha. Obtained as a result of fermentation, it tastes like red kvass. The drink is especially relevant in the heat, it perfectly quenches thirst and saturates the body with fluid.
It is necessary
- Leaf or granulated tea
- Granulated sugar
- Casserole with a capacity of 3 liters
- 3-liter jar
- Gauze or small sieve
- Medusomycete (scientific name for kombucha)
Instructions
Step 1
Pour tea leaves into a saucepan, 3-4 tsp. You can use black, green and even fruit teas. If there is no tea in bulk, you can replace it with 3-4 tea bags. If you add 1/4 of green tea to black tea, the drink turns out to be more astringent. Next, add 10-12 tbsp. granulated sugar, fill with water and bring to a boil. After boiling, the tea must be left to infuse for 5-6 hours.
Step 2
After the tea has cooled down, pour it into a clean 3-liter jar, the tea leaves should not get into the jar, so it is better to use a fine mesh strainer.
Step 3
Rinse the kombucha with warm water. Place it in a jar, cover with clean gauze and leave for 4-5 days. Store the jar only at room temperature.
Step 4
When re-brewing, you can add a small amount of the finished drink to the jar, the fermentation process will go faster and the drink will be ready in 2-3 days.
