Liqueurs in stores are not cheap. Therefore, it makes sense to make homemade orange liqueur. Of course, it takes five weeks to prepare it, but it's worth it - this liqueur can be served on a holiday, and baked with it.
It is necessary
- - 1 liter of vodka;
- - 400 g of sugar;
- - 5 large oranges.
Instructions
Step 1
Peel off the orange peel thinly, taking care not to damage the white part. Finely chop the zest, pour it into the jar. If the white part gets into the liquor, then it can be bitter.
Step 2
Pour vodka into a jar, remove to a warm place for three weeks. If you are preparing liquor in the summer, then it is enough to put the jar on the windowsill, covering it with an opaque cloth.
Step 3
Strain the present vodka.
Step 4
Prepare the syrup: mix the indicated amount of sugar with 250 ml of tincture. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Cool the syrup until warm in a water bath. The consistency of the syrup will resemble liquid jam.
Step 5
Pour the syrup into the vodka and zest tincture. Let it infuse for another 2 weeks. Since the fermentation process will take place at this time, do not pour the mixture into the jar under the very neck - leave some space.
Step 6
Pour the finished orange liqueur into bottles, seal tightly. Store in a cool place.
