A drink made from cumin and tamarind not only quenches thirst in the hot summer months, but it also contains many nutritional values: proteins, calcium, fats, iron, carbohydrates, magnesium, fiber, phosphorus, potassium, sodium, zinc. It is worth noting that it is not only tasty, but also very healthy.
It is necessary
- - 3 teaspoons of cumin;
- - 250 grams of tamarind;
- - 3 tablespoons of sugar;
- - half a teaspoon of garam masala;
- - mint leaves;
- - half a lemon.
Instructions
Step 1
Take tamarind, put in a saucepan and cover with one liter of water. Bring to a boil and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes. Tamarind is also called the Indian date, but the plant is now common in most of the tropical countries of Asia.
Step 2
Wait for it to cool, then squeeze out as much juice and pulp as possible from the tamarind. It is best to do this by rubbing it through a sieve.
Step 3
Add to the resulting juice all the other components, or rather: sugar, garam - masala and cumin, you can add a pinch of salt. Stir well and let the drink sit for 15 to 20 minutes. To be clear, garam ("spicy") and masala ("blend") are a mixture of spices used in North Indian cuisine and the cuisine of several other South Asian countries.
Step 4
Cut the lemon into slices. There is little left to do, filter the drink, you can through cheesecloth, and cool, diluting it with 3-4 liters of cold water. Your drink is almost ready.
Step 5
