Instructions
Step 1
Get a chatterbox ready. To do this, pour the whey over the oatmeal. It can be purchased at the dairy section of supermarkets. But it's best to use whey from homemade cottage cheese or cheese.
Step 2
Place the soaked oatmeal in a warm place. After a day, small bubbles should appear on the surface of the liquid. Strain the mash through a fine sieve or two-layer cheesecloth. Try to squeeze out all the liquid thoroughly.
Step 3
Pour the resulting liquid into a saucepan. Add sugar and salt if desired. Place the pot on low heat and wait for the contents to boil. After boiling, stir the jelly continuously until it thickens. Ready oat jelly should acquire the consistency of liquid mashed potatoes.
Step 4
Pour the jelly into molds greased with butter. Wait for it to cool, then refrigerate. After 5-6 hours, shake the jelly out of the molds, pour sour cream, honey, jam, caramel syrup or condensed milk over it and serve. Kissel, cooked without sugar, can be poured with sunflower oil.
