Croissants are very popular in France, where they are served for breakfast with a cup of coffee or cocoa. They are no less popular with us, so we offer to cook them and pamper your household.

Ingredients:

  • 450 g flour;
  • 60 g sugar;
  • 8 g yeast;
  • 2 eggs;
  • 200 g butter;
  • 20 g of sunflower oil;
  • salt.

Preparation:

  1. Dilute yeast with warm water, set aside for 10 minutes, then stir.
  2. Sift wheat flour into a deep bowl. Remove the butter from the refrigerator and leave until soft. Grind the butter and flour. Then add one egg, yeast, sugar and salt. Knead until you get an elastic dough.
  3. Put the dough on a floured table and roll out with a rolling pin.
  4. The oil that remains must be divided into several portions. With 1/3 of the butter, cover 2/3 of the dough, while leaving the edges free (3 cm). You can use a regular tablespoon for this.
  5. Wrap the unlubricated edges onto a greased surface and cover with the remaining end. This will create a three-layer rectangle. Close up the edges carefully so that our oil does not come out.
  6. Then turn the dough and roll it out into a rectangle again.
  7. Put a layer of dough on a sheet of parchment paper, cover it with a second layer on top, fold it in half and put it in the refrigerator for half an hour, covering it with a clean towel.
  8. After the refrigerator, carry out the procedure twice more, the third time without oil and put it back in the refrigerator.
  9. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, cover and leave for 10 minutes. Then cut the dough lengthwise. Then cut each layer into triangles. Roll croissants out of them.
  10. Grease a baking sheet with butter and place the croissants, tip down, on it. Brush with a lightly beaten egg, place in a cold oven for 40 minutes. Then bake for 20 minutes.
