Kozinaki is a traditional delicacy of Georgian cuisine. It is not difficult to prepare this tasty and healthy dessert, because this dish contains only four ingredients: nuts (or seeds), honey, lemon juice and sugar, and the recipe does not require any special cooking skills.

It is necessary

  • - 300 g of shelled seeds or nuts:
  • - 300 ml of honey;
  • - a tablespoon of lemon juice;
  • - a tablespoon of sugar.

Instructions

Step 1

First, decide on the basis of the Kozinaki. You can use absolutely any nuts and seeds, as well as cereals (peanuts, walnuts, sunflower seeds, rolled oats, etc.). Next, put the prepared nuts and seeds on a baking sheet and dry them for 10-12 minutes in an oven at a temperature of 100 degrees (during this time they will have a unique aroma).

Step 2

Now put all the honey in a saucepan and put it on low heat, as soon as it gets hot, pour lemon juice into it and mix well.

Step 3

Then add a tablespoon of sugar to the lemon-honey mixture and dissolve it (this must be done quickly so that the honey does not boil in any case). Transfer the dried seeds and nuts to a saucepan and stir well again.

Step 4

Let the mass stand for about 10 minutes, then transfer it to a previously prepared square or rectangular shape and roll it out with a rolling pin (it is best to use a silicone mold for cooking kozinaki, as this dessert does not stick to it).

Step 5

Leave the kozinaki to cool for 30 minutes, then carefully cut the treat into squares or rhombuses and place on a flat plate. Delicious homemade kozinaki are ready.
