It is necessary
-
- rice
- water
- pan
Instructions
Step 1
For adding to salads, crumbly long-grain rice is better. In order to release as little sticky starch as possible during cooking, the cereals must be rinsed well. Pour it into a sieve and rinse under running water until it is completely clean. If you don't have a sieve, you can do the same in a regular bowl. Fill the grain with water, rinse, drain the cloudy water, repeat the procedure several times. The final time, you can pour boiling water over the cereal.
Step 2
Put the rice in a saucepan and fill it with water in a 1: 1 ratio, that is, for a glass of rice you will need 1 glass of water. Do not be afraid, this amount will be enough. Rice easily absorbs water, it will continue to do this after boiling, already in the salad. If there is too much water, it can turn into porridge.
Step 3
Put the saucepan on the fire, bring to a boil, then immediately reduce the heat to low and keep the saucepan over the heat until all the water has been absorbed. As soon as this happens, turn off the stove, cover the pan with a lid, and wait 5 minutes.
Step 4
Boiled rice will turn out to be crumbly and slightly dry. Let it cool and add to the salad.
Step 5
Rice will turn out much better if you use special steamed varieties that do not boil and retain their shape, no matter how cooked.
