There are many recipes for baking with poppy seeds: traditional buns, buns, pies. But there is one dish that not everyone has heard of. This dish is katlama with poppy seeds. These pastries are similar to a puff pastry, but the dough is different from the traditional puff pastry, and the taste of these pastries is surprisingly sweet, despite the fact that there is practically no sugar in it. Cooking katlama shouldn't take you long if you follow this recipe.
It is necessary
- - wheat flour - 350 g;
- - vegetable oil - 50 g;
- - milk -125 g;
- - egg - 1 piece;
- - sugar - 15 g;
- - salt to taste.
- For filling:
- - poppy seed -300 g;
- - butter 100-150 g;
- - sugar 150 g.
Instructions
Step 1
First you need to make the katlama dough. To do this, combine milk with sugar and salt. Add butter and chicken egg to the mixture. Sift flour and add to the rest of the food. Knead the dough. Knead the dough until it lags behind the walls of the dishes and stops sticking to your hands.
Step 2
Roll out the dough into a thin layer as you would when making homemade noodles. Melt the butter and grease the dough liberally. Sprinkle with sugar and poppy seeds.
Step 3
Fold the dough in half, brush the dough again with butter and sprinkle with poppy seeds and sugar, then fold the dough in half again.
Step 4
Grease a baking sheet with oil and place the dough on top of it. Bake the katlama in a preheated oven until it is beautifully golden brown.
Step 5
Chill the finished katlama and serve, cut into small pieces.
