You can add tenderness and a pleasant aroma to duck meat if you stew it in beer. Duck meat in beer gravy is a hearty and tasty dish. It will be appropriate both on a festive table and on an ordinary family dinner. And in order to emphasize the unique taste of duck meat, it is better to serve the finished dish with orange sauce.

  • 3-4 onions
  • 1 carrot
  • 5-6 cloves of garlic
  • 2 sweet and sour apples

  • To make the sauce:
  • 4 tablespoons dry orange peel
  • 0.5 cups water
  • 2 tablespoons of skates
  • 100 ml dry red wine
  • 150 ml orange juice or 2 large oranges

Instructions

Step 1

Cut the duck carcass into portions. Place in a deep bowl.

Sprinkle with salt, pepper, grated garlic and spices to taste.

Add mayonnaise (3 tablespoons), stir, cover and refrigerate.

Marinate for 30-40 minutes.

Step 2

Cut onions into thin rings, grate carrots on a coarse grater. Fry until golden brown.

Step 3

Fry the marinated pieces of duck meat with a small amount of refined sunflower oil, put the fried pieces into a saucepan or deep frying pan with a lid.

Cut the apples into slices, put in a frying pan, distribute evenly between the pieces of meat. Add a glass of beer, bring to a boil.

Step 4

Pour the fried onions, coarsely chopped potatoes into the meat and simmer over low heat, adding beer as it boils for 30-40 minutes.

Step 5

Duck meat goes well with orange sauce. It is very simple to prepare it.

Pour boiling water over 4 tablespoons of orange peel to remove the bitterness, grate. Pour into a sauce container (small saucepan). Add the juice of 2 oranges (or 150 ml of fresh orange juice).

Strain, pour the zest into a saucepan, add 0.5 cups of water, boil, add 0.5 cups of dry red wine and 2 tablespoons of brandy.

Cook the sauce until half of the liquid has evaporated.

After that, add strained orange juice to the mixture, boil and cook over low heat for 5-6 minutes. Pour the prepared sauce into a saucepan and serve along with the cooked duck.

Serve ready duck meat with potatoes with vegetables, salads and orange sauce. The dish goes well with dry red wines.
