Flaxseed oil is very beneficial as it contains many essential fatty acids, including omega-3s. This product is used in small quantities and exclusively raw. Flaxseed oil can be bought at drugstores, but sometimes it is sold in grocery stores as well.
Instructions
Step 1
When choosing flaxseed oil, pay attention to the color of the product. Quality oil is golden brown. The color can have different intensities, depending on the degree of purification. Good linseed oil is clear, it does not have a cloudy sediment.
Step 2
When buying flaxseed oil, look at the label. It must be written on it that the product is cold pressed. The manufacturing temperature of such oil does not exceed 45 ° C. If any other preparation method is indicated, it is a technical product that is not edible.
Step 3
Pay attention to the date of production: oil pressed from flax is stored for 1 year from the date of production. Look at the color and size of the bottle. Since linseed oil is destroyed by light, it should only be sold in dark dishes. This product has a short shelf life, therefore, it should be packaged in small bottles.
Step 4
Store purchased flaxseed oil in a cool and dark place (refrigerator) for no longer than the time indicated on the label. After opening the package, use the oil within 1-2 months. By consuming stale flaxseed oil, instead of omega-3 fats, you can oversaturate the body with free radicals.
Step 5
Smell the oil before use. A quality product has a specific but pleasant aroma. The taste of flaxseed oil is also specific, it may have a slight bitterness. If linseed oil smells unpleasant and tastes very bitter, it means that it has lost its beneficial properties.
