Cooking duck legs with new potatoes in the oven is easy. But the dish turns out to be very satisfying, aromatic. It is spiced up with nutmeg and a mixture of red and black peppers.
It is necessary
- - 2 duck legs
- - 500 g of young potatoes
- - Apple
- - onion
- - 0.5 teaspoon of a mixture of black and red peppers
- - a teaspoon of salt
- - 2-3 pinches of nutmeg
- - 2-3 sprigs of thyme
Instructions
Step 1
Wash duck legs, pat dry with paper towels. Rub them with salt, pepper, nutmeg. Leave the prepared legs for 2-3 hours to allow the duck to absorb the aromas of herbs and spices.
Step 2
Cut off excess fat from the legs. Wash young potatoes, peel off the ground using a stiff brush. Cut large potatoes into quarters and small ones into halves. Salt a little.
Step 3
Wash the apples, remove the core, cut into slices. Peel the onion, also cut into slices. Put pieces of duck fat and onions in a roaster or a ceramic dish.
Step 4
Cover with foil or a lid. After preheating the oven to 200 degrees, put the dish in it so that the duck fat is melted. Then put pieces of potatoes, apples, a sprig of thyme on the bottom of the mold.
Step 5
Place the duck legs on top. Cover with foil, bake in a preheated oven until cooked. A quarter of an hour before that, remove the foil, let the duck legs brown.
