Working with colored semolina is easy and simple, since the creative process excites, and the result exceeds the wildest expectations of the author. But, as in any other creativity, working with colored semolina requires attention and accuracy.
Vessel with colored semolina
If you have ever been to souvenir shops or exclusive gift shops, you have probably seen decorative vessels filled with layers of colored sand. You can make such vessels yourself by replacing colored sand with multi-colored semolina. For work you will need: a transparent vessel, semolina of several colors, a spoon and a funnel. The colors of the semolina should go well with each other. Place the funnel in the neck of the vessel and pour semolina into it, alternating different colors. Before applying each new layer, slide the funnel "nose" from the center to one of the sides of the vessel for a more intricate pattern. To keep the borders between colors even and clear, do not turn or tilt the vessel during operation. Fill the container to the very top, close it tightly with a lid or stopper. If there is no plug, decorate the neck with a cloth previously coated with glue, and tie it tightly with tape, braid or rope. Make a thematic pattern on top, decorate the vessel with shells, dried flowers, rounded sea stones, multi-colored ribbons. The choice of decor elements is limited only by your imagination.
Paintings and collages from multi-colored semolina
Colored semolina is an excellent material for creating paintings and decorative collages. It is not difficult to work with semolina, and the result sometimes exceeds even the wildest expectations. To create a picture you will need: a sheet of cardboard or thick paper, colored semolina, PVA glue and a brush. Transfer a sketch of your future painting to a paper base in advance. The sketch can be drawn by hand or translated through carbon paper, and if the paper is not too thick, then print on a printer. Think over the colors and shades of semolina and prepare in advance, in accordance with the selected image. To transfer the semolina onto a sheet of paper, grease the parts that will be painted in one color with glue, and apply the semolina of the corresponding color on them. When the glue dries, shake off the excess semolina. Repeat the procedure until you paint the whole picture with semolina. If you add pebbles and shells to the picture, you get a whole panel on the marine theme. Transferring colored semolina to the surface of the product is very simple: first you need to attach a stencil with a pattern to the surface of the product and circle it with a pencil, chalk or paint. After that, you need to thoroughly glue certain areas of the product with glue and sprinkle them with semolina of the desired color. When the work dries up, you need to take a soft brush and carefully remove the excess semolina. Double-sided tape can be used instead of glue. The finished drawing on the surface of a photo frame, mirror or ceramic dish can be finished with special paints for glass. Candle decorated with colored semolina
Colored semolina can be used to decorate candles. For work you will need: a transparent glass made of plain glass without patterns and edges, semolina painted in different colors, a small flat candle and a funnel. Take a transparent glass, insert a funnel into it and pour multi-colored semolina into the glass in layers, beautifully alternating colors with each other. Proceed in exactly the same way as when creating a container with colored semolina. When a very small empty space remains at the top of the glass, place a candle in it and fill it with colored semolina on all sides so that the edges of the candle are flush with the edges of the glass. Fill the glass with semolina up to the rims. Gently smooth the semolina on the surface by lightly sprinkling the edges of the candle with it. Your candle decorated with colored semolina is ready!
