Since ancient times, China has known a unique drink that heals diseases and prolongs life. Chinese emperors drank it. Over the centuries, it has not lost its healing power and amazing properties.
What is uniqueness
White tea is grown on a special type of tea bushes that grow only in one province of China, high in the mountains. There are about ten varieties of this tea, two of which are considered the best - these are Baihaoinzhen and Baimudan. The best varieties contain needle-shaped silvery tea bush buds, covered with a delicate fluff.
Tea is collected according to an ancient Chinese tradition in early spring until 9 o'clock in the morning. This work is entrusted only to specially trained people who do not drink alcoholic beverages, do not eat garlic and onions, so as not to spoil the raw material with their breath.
White tea does not undergo fermentation; it is dried in the fresh mountain air, alternating between sun and shade. It is difficult to store it during transportation, so buying real white tea is better in China.
White tea is very healthy:
- it contains little caffeine, soothes rather than arouses;
- strengthens the immune system, rich in vitamins, microelements;
- relieves inflammation, removes toxins and allergens from the body;
- helps women during pregnancy and lactation to maintain health, raise a healthy baby;
- speeds up metabolism, helps to normalize weight for obese people;
- strengthens blood vessels, improves heart function;
- prevents the formation of tumors;
- helps to fight infections, not to get sick.
The aroma and taste of white tea is very delicate, subtle, it has light fruity, floral notes. It smells of peaches and honey, summer flowers and something else elusively pleasant.
How to brew
A special brewing method allows you to preserve all the beneficial properties of tea, to reveal its unique taste and aroma.
In China, special utensils are used for brewing - gaiwan (a porcelain container with a lid and a 200 ml saucer). They drink tea from small wide tea cups or bowls.
Chinese White Tea Brewing Recipe:
1. Take spring water, heat up to 80 degrees.
2. Pour hot water over gaiwan and bowls.
3. Pour a tablespoon of tea into a warm gaiwan and add hot water. Drain the water immediately (do not drink, contemptuously calling it water for the feet).
4. The tea leaves of the tea leaves, washed from dust, are poured with hot water, the temperature of which is 60-80 degrees. Insist for two minutes, pour through a strainer into cups.
5. The tea leaves are poured 8 more times. This is done immediately before drinking tea, because otherwise the taste of the tea will deteriorate, it will taste bitter.
White tea is stored in a sealed container made of dark glass or ceramics, at a temperature of plus 10 degrees.
When buying white tea, be careful, a real drink is expensive. But this is not yet a guarantee of its quality. Under the guise of white tea, green tea is sometimes sold with added flavors. This drink does not have the expected benefits and miraculous power of white tea.
