The name of the fondue dish that came to us from Switzerland means melted in French. The traditional Swiss recipe involves dipping bread into melted cheese mass.
Today, in addition to the traditional recipe, there are many varieties of this dish with other ingredients. Our best known are cheese and chocolate fondues. It is good to cook such a dish at home, in a warm and cozy company. This dish can be considered the most successful dish for communication.
In order to prepare fondue, you will need special utensils - a fondue dish and small forks. You can buy such a set in a store, or at worst, you can replace it with an ordinary saucepan, preferably a ceramic one, which maintains the temperature of the melted cheese well.
To prepare a traditional cheese fondue, you need cheese, about 300-500 grams - gruer or emmental, or better a mixture of cheeses, one and a half glasses of dry white wine, spices to taste and diced white bread.
• Lightly rub the sides of the pan with garlic.
• Place fondue on fire, pour wine into it and heat slightly.
• Put diced cheese, spices into the wine, add three to four tablespoons of starch to thicken, and cook, stirring occasionally, until the cheese is completely melted.
• Transfer the pot to the burner.
Now, armed with a fork, dip a slice of bread into the cheese mass, wait a little for the bread to soak in the cheese, and enjoy a wonderful dish.
To make a chocolate fondue, you need two bars of dark or white chocolate, one hundred grams of condensed milk, a tablespoon of brandy or liquor, and any fruit - strawberries, banana slices, kiwi fruit, pitted grapes, orange and tangerine slices, pineapple or pear slices. You can also use pieces of biscuit or muffin.
• In a fondue bowl, melt the pre-broken chocolate into pieces.
• Add condensed milk and liqueur to the chocolate.
Transfer the fondue pot to the burner, prick the fruit pieces onto a fork and enjoy.
