There are times when it is necessary to store food for a couple of days without a refrigerator. For example, during a power outage or during a trip to the country.
Instructions
Step 1
Chicken eggs
Whole-shell fresh eggs can be stored for several months without refrigeration. To do this, put them in a container with water left over from the slaking of lime.
Another way: grease them with vegetable oil or egg white. After that, you need to wrap each egg in paper and put it in a basket.
You can also dip the eggs in boiling water for a couple of seconds and then in cold water. Once dry, fold them into a jar or basket. Eggs laid vertically with a blunt end up are better stored.
Step 2
Milk
Boil milk with a little sugar and baking soda (on the tip of a knife). Transfer to a glass or earthen vessel in a pot of cold water. Cover the milk with a gauze pad moistened with cold water, and dip the ends of the pad into the water.
Step 3
Butter
Divide the butter into small portions of 200 g. Wrap each piece in parchment paper and place in cold salted water. Press down on the oil with a weight and remember to change the water daily. You can also add vinegar to the oil.
Step 4
Cheese
Place the cheese in a glass dish and press down on top with a plate of cold water.
Step 5
Fresh fish
Gutted fish with gills removed are better kept. Do not wash it, but wipe it dry with a paper towel. Rub the fish inside and out with salt and pepper.
Step 6
Meat
Dry the meat. Rub it with salt or granulated sugar.
Another way: place a piece of meat in a saucepan and pour over the yogurt. After that, cover the meat with a plate and press down with a load.
