How to cook mackerel with potatoes in the oven?
In order to prepare this dish, you must first take the mackerel out of the freezer and defrost it. You can put it in a pot of hot water and wait for the ice to melt. At this time, wash and peel the potatoes, put them in a saucepan with salted water, put them on fire and bring them to a half-cooked state. Drain and let the potatoes cool slightly.
Now, after the fish has melted, you need to gut it, remove all fins, head, and then cut into small portioned pieces, which should be about 10 pieces from two mackerels. Salt these slices and leave them for a while to soak the fish.
Peel and cut the onions into half rings, and the bell peppers into cubes or thin strips. Combine these two ingredients and season with salt and pepper.
Take a baking sheet, spread foil on it, on which evenly distribute the mackerel pieces. Spread the potatoes between them, and put onions and bell peppers on top. Each piece of mackerel must be covered with a thin slice of lemon. Melt the butter and pour over the vegetables.
Preheat the oven to 200 ° C, put a baking sheet there, bake for 30 minutes, then remove it from the oven, remove the lemon slices from the fish. Grate the cheese on a coarse grater, sprinkle the vegetables and fish with it, return the dish to the oven and cook for another 10 minutes.
Some housewives prefer to add a few more tomatoes, finely chopped fresh herbs, as well as mayonnaise or a little vinegar to this dish. It all depends only on your taste preferences, so dream up.
Serve the finished dish in portions, decorating each portion with parsley or dill leaves. The number of servings received is usually about six or seven, depending on the appetite of your household.
