Pearl barley has a lot of useful properties. If you cook barley in the oven in combination with vegetables and mushrooms, then it will turn out delicious and very tender. At the same time, the groats are well boiled and cooked quickly enough.

- - pearl barley (170 g);
- –Paprika (5 g);
- –Breadcrumbs (20 g);
- - butter (1 tbsp. L.);
- –Dried or fresh mushrooms (15 g);
- - pumpkin (80 g);
- –Red onions (30 g);
- –Hard cheese (15 g);
- –Thyme (1 branch);
- - vegetable oil (5 g);
- –Chicken broth (220 ml);
- –Sour cream (2, 5 tbsp. L.);
- –Salt and pepper to taste.
Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the barley first. Soak cereals in water for 2 hours, rinse and boil until half cooked in salted water. Leave the barley to cool for a while.
Step 2
Take a deep frying pan, put it on the burner. Process vegetables. To do this, rinse the mushrooms well, remove excess dirt and cut into small pieces. Peel the onion and pumpkin, chop, place in a pan on vegetable oil. Put mushrooms, peppers, paprika and a sprig of thyme there.
Step 3
Cook the barley with vegetables and spices for about 30 minutes, stirring constantly with a wooden spatula. Next, add sour cream to the dish and mix well again.
Step 4
Prepare in advance heat-resistant pots in which you will bake the barley. Put the resulting mixture of barley, spices and vegetables in each pot. Top with chicken broth to the brim.
Step 5
Fry the breadcrumbs in vegetable oil. Place a few spoons in each pot. Sprinkle with grated cheese on top. Close tightly with a lid and send to the oven.
Step 6
Cook the barley for 20-30 minutes. Check the pots periodically by opening the lid. When the broth boils twice, you can turn off the oven and leave the dish for 5-8 minutes to infuse.
