Calzone is an Italian pie that is a closed pizza. Calzone is not difficult to make at home. You can surprise guests with such a dish by serving it as an appetizer at any celebration.
It is necessary
- For the test:
- - wheat flour 2, 5 glasses;
- - dry yeast 1 tbsp. the spoon;
- - warm water 1 glass;
- - honey 0.5 teaspoon;
- - olive oil;
- - coarse salt 0.5 teaspoon;
- For filling:
- - Pepperoni sausage 8 pieces;
- - onion 1 pc.;
- - minced meat 200 g;
- - Mozzarella cheese 30 g;
- - hard cheese 60 g;
- - chicken egg 1 pc.;
- For the sauce:
- - tomato paste 200 g;
- - Italian herbs;
- - dry basil;
- - ground chili pepper;
- - ground black pepper;
- - salt.
Instructions
Step 1
Dissolve dry yeast in warm water. Mix them with honey and olive oil. Pour in carefully sifted flour and knead the dough. The dough should not stick to your hands. Then pour 1 teaspoon of olive oil into the bottom of a large bowl and roll in the dough. Cover the bowl of dough with a towel and leave in a warm place for 1 hour.
Step 2
Peel the onion and cut into strips. Heat olive oil in a skillet and fry the onion until golden brown. Then fry the minced meat in the same oil, adding spices to it. Grate mozzarella and hard cheese on a fine grater.
Step 3
Add the tomato paste to the sauce spices and bring to a boil. The sauce should be moderately thick.
Step 4
Divide the dough into equal 4 parts, roll out flat cakes with a diameter of 25 cm from each. Put the flat cakes on a baking sheet covered with parchment and brush with tomato sauce. On half of each tortilla, spread the filling in the sequence: fried minced meat, onions, Peperonni sausages, Mozzarella cheese, hard cheese. Then cover the filling with the other half of the flatbread and pinch the edges. Make small holes in the calzone to allow steam to escape.
Step 5
Beat the egg and grease each cake, and sprinkle with Italian herbs on top. Bake for 20 minutes at 190 degrees.
