During our childhood, jam was a fairly simple and predictable dish, but today this dessert is prepared using a variety of unusual ingredients. So, mint jam is incredibly tasty and fresh.
Classic mint jam
Anyone, even a novice housewife, can cook this unusual delicacy with a delicious taste.
Required Ingredients:
- 200 g mint;
- 200 g of water;
- 500 ml of apple cider vinegar;
- 750 g sugar;
- 75 g of liquid pectin;
- green food coloring.
Preparation:
We sort out the mint, leaving only fresh leaves, after which we rinse, dry with a paper towel and chop with a knife. Place the chopped leaves in a saucepan with a thick bottom, cover with granulated sugar, then add water and apple cider vinegar. We put the saucepan on low heat and cook the mixture until it boils. During cooking, the mass must be constantly stirred so that the jam turns out to be tasty and uniform. When the water boils, remove the pan from the stove, add food coloring and pectin, mix thoroughly and put the dishes on the fire again. When the mint jam boils, turn off the heat, let the delicacy cool down, then filter and pour it into jars.
Mint and lemon jam
If the classic recipe for mint jam is diversified by adding lemon to it, then we will get an unusual delicacy with a bright refreshing and invigorating taste.
Required Ingredients:
- 250 g mint leaves;
- 500 ml of water;
- 2 lemons;
- 1 kg of sugar.
Preparation:
First, prepare the mint leaves. To do this, thoroughly rinse the greens under running water, cut them and put them in a saucepan. Pour the lemons with boiling water, cut them into neat slices together with the peel and send them to the mint saucepan. Pour the lemon-mint mixture with water and bring to a boil. When the jam boils, cook it for another 10 minutes, then remove from heat, cover with a lid and leave to infuse for a day. The next day, we filter the jam through a gauze cloth folded in three. Mix the resulting liquid with sugar and put it on fire again. The treat should be cooked until it acquires a thick and viscous consistency. We pack the ready-made lemon and mint jam in jars and remove until winter.
Strawberry and mint jam
Strawberry and mint is a very unusual and sophisticated combination for jam. A sweet treat with a refreshing taste will be the best reminder of a warm and sunny summer.
Required Ingredients:
- 100 g mint leaves;
- 1 kg of strawberries;
- 1 lemon;
- 600 g of sugar.
Preparation:
We sort out the strawberries, rinse and put in a saucepan. Squeeze the juice out of the lemon. Sprinkle the berries with sugar and pour over lemon juice, then leave to infuse overnight. In the morning, put the pan on the fire and bring to a boil. When the mixture boils, remove it from the stove and leave it for 10-12 hours. After the specified time, filter the jam through a sieve. Put the strawberries with mint in a separate bowl, and pour the syrup back into a saucepan, bring to a boil and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes, after which you can proceed directly to preservation.
