Preheat the oven to 135C and bake the rice for about 2 hours, then let it cool. Then shape it into walnut-sized lumps. Pour approximately 2.5 cm high sunflower oil into a 3-liter saucepan. Heat it to 190 ° C. Dip the rice lumps in the boiling oil and fry them until swollen for about 1 minute.

Gently remove the lumps with a slotted spoon and place them on a paper towel. Finally, season with salt or powdered sugar to taste.

Microwave puffed rice

To make puffed rice using this recipe, you will need the following ingredients:

- 50 g butter;

- 200 g of marshmallow sweets;

- 3 cups puffed rice breakfast cereal.

Take a microwave-safe baking dish and mix the butter and marshmallows in it. Place it in the microwave and cook on the highest power (800-900 watts) for about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.

You should have a smooth paste.

Toss the mixture with the puffed rice flakes from the store bought or from the first recipe. Prepare baking dishes and brush with sunflower oil. Then transfer the finished mixture into it. Using a spoon, press down the mass well and set it aside to cool for 2 hours. After this time, cut the rice layer into pieces and serve.

Puffed rice in a wok

You can also make puffed rice using a wok. You will need brown rice and sunflower oil. Pour oil into the wok and heat it to 190 ° C. Add a handful of brown rice to the butter.

Note that as soon as you put the rice in the oil, it will immediately "shoot" and the rice will swell. Therefore, follow the safety rules!

Remove the puffed rice and leave to cool completely. Using a strainer, remove the husks from the swollen kernels and you can start your meal.
