Previously common, but almost forgotten dish, despite the great benefits for the human body. There is nothing difficult in the preparation of fish cakes, contrary to popular belief.

Ingredients:

  • Frozen blue whiting - 1 kg;
  • Fresh lard - 50 g;
  • Chicken egg - 1 pc;
  • Onion - 1 pc;
  • Garlic - 3 cloves;
  • Breadcrumbs;
  • Salt;
  • Flour;
  • Frying oil.

Preparation:

  1. Defrost whiting and rinse in running water. Then cut off the fins with scissors and cut off the head. Cut the fish along the belly and gut, rinse under water. Using a knife, scrape off the scales from the blue whiting. Cut the fish into medium-sized pieces.
  2. This fish has rather small bones and therefore does not need to be removed. Twist the fish in a meat grinder, alternating with fresh bacon. It is better to pre-freeze the fat, then it is easier to twist. Peel the onions and garlic and add them to the minced fish after twisting.
  3. Salt and pepper the minced meat, break the chicken egg, and then knead it thoroughly until smooth. Form medium-sized cutlets from the minced meat, beating the minced meat with sufficient force against the edge of the container.
  4. Roll the formed cutlet in flour. The second layer of bread will be crackers. Thanks to this breading, the cutlets will be juicy and tender. Pour oil into a frying pan and heat over medium heat.
  5. Put the cutlets in a frying pan and fry until tender at medium temperature, browning on each side. You can serve cutlets with a side dish of rice, boiled potatoes, sprinkle with creamy or tomato sauce, and sprinkle with chopped herbs on top. Such cutlets are also good with vegetable stew.
