Caraway sticks are quick and easy to prepare. It is advisable to bake them more immediately, because they "fly away" with unprecedented speed! Sticks for beer are especially good - much tastier and healthier than chips and crackers.
It is necessary
- - 2 medium potatoes;
- - 1 glass of flour;
- - 200 grams (pack) of butter;
- - 1 teaspoon of salt;
- - 1 egg;
- - 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds.
Instructions
Step 1
Peel the potatoes, rinse and boil until tender. Drain the water, and immediately mash the potatoes in mashed potatoes. Add butter, flour, salt and knead the dough; if necessary, add a little more flour - the dough should come off your hands. Form a ball, sprinkle with flour, cover with a napkin and place in the refrigerator for one hour.
Step 2
Cover the baking sheet with baking paper oiled with vegetable oil. In a deep bowl, beat the egg lightly with a fork. Roll out the chilled dough into a 1 cm thick layer on a floured table. Cut sticks about 10 cm long and 1-2 cm wide. Dip each stick in an egg and put on a baking sheet. Sprinkle with caraway seeds on top.
Step 3
Preheat oven to 200 degrees. Place a baking sheet with caraway sticks in the oven and bake for about 15-20 minutes until light brown. Immediately remove the finished sticks from the paper so that they do not stick, and transfer to a deep dish. Serve chilled.
