Changing traditions

As a rule, the classic recipe for a salad "under a fur coat" includes several ingredients: potatoes, eggs, carrots and onions. Some housewives like to experiment and add beans, horseradish or mushrooms to it. But the undoubted component of this dish is the herring, which gives it a spicy taste. However, if instead of it you add salmon, and even caramelized salmon, to the salad, you get a delicate and refined dish. Of course, the cost of these fish differs several times, but the finished salmon fillet does not require long work - it just needs to be properly prepared and cut into thin slices.

Caramel crust

Salmon is an amazing delicacy product with excellent taste. Dishes in which this salmon fish is present become incredibly tasty and healthy.

To properly caramelize salmon, you should take:

- 200 g salmon fillet;

- 2 tsp butter;

- 1-2 cloves of garlic;

- 3 sprigs of thyme.

In a frying pan, heat the butter, then add chopped garlic to it (do not forget to press it lightly so that the juice appears and the taste is revealed) and thyme. Put the fish fillet on the resulting mixture and fry until a fragrant caramel crust is obtained. If the fish seems raw, you need to place it in the oven, preheated to 1600, for 5-10 minutes. Well, to make the fish a little sweet, you can add a teaspoon of honey.

Place the finished product on a wire rack and allow it to cool. Then cut into small pieces and place in a salad bowl. It is advisable to grease salmon with mayonnaise a little. The rest of the products, according to the salad recipe, must be cut and also laid in layers, not forgetting the sauce.

By the way, sometimes instead of traditional mayonnaise, a sauce made of chopped horseradish mixed with sour cream is used. Salted or pickled cucumbers will add a slightly salty flavor to the salad.

Thus, a salad "under a fur coat" of caramelized salmon will include:

- 200 g salmon fillet;

- products for caramelization (see above);

- onions - 1 pc;

- carrots - 1 pc;

- potatoes - 4 pcs;

- eggs - 3-4 pcs;

- beets - 1-2 pcs (depending on size);

- 1-2 pickled or pickled cucumbers.

Do not forget to coat the resulting layers with mayonnaise or any other sauce, and also decorate the finished dish with chopped fresh green onions.
