It is necessary

    • 500 g of veal;
    • 1/5 cup white rice
    • 1 raw egg
    • 100 g of white bread;
    • 1 glass of milk;
    • 1 onion head;
    • 100 g of hard cheese;
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • 100 g green onions;
    • 100 g of dill;
    • 200 g sour cream;
    • salt;
    • ground black pepper;
    • 2 cloves of garlic.

Instructions

Step 1

Cut the lean veal into small pieces and grind in a meat grinder. To make the meatballs more tender, skip the minced meat two or three times. You can use chicken or turkey meat instead of veal. Soak a slice of white bread without the crust in milk for 2-3 minutes. Chop the onion very finely, grate the cheese, squeeze the bread lightly and add everything to the minced meat. Season with salt and pepper, add one raw egg and mix thoroughly.

Step 2

Pour water into a pot. When the water boils, add salt on the tip of a knife and add rice. Cook the rice until half cooked, try not to overcook it. After the rice is cooked, let it cool and add to the minced meat, then stir well. Form into round meatballs about the size of a small egg.

Step 3

Pour the required amount of water into the steamer, grease the steamer grates with vegetable oil and carefully lay out the meatballs. Try not to let them touch each other. Set the steamer timer for 35-40 minutes.

Step 4

Use a regular saucepan and metal sieve if you don't have a steamer. Put a pot of water on the fire, place a suitable sieve on the sides of the pot. Make sure that the bottom of the sieve does not touch the water. Place the meatballs carefully on a sieve and cover with a lid. After boiling water, cook meatballs for 30-35 minutes.

Step 5

Prepare the sauce while the meatballs are cooking. Finely chop the green onions and dill. Chop the garlic and add it to the herbs. Add low-fat sour cream, a spoonful of olive oil, salt, add a little black pepper if desired. Mix everything thoroughly and place in a sauce bowl.

Step 6

Serve the meatball sauce separately. Mashed potatoes or pasta work well as a side dish. If the steamer consists of several tiers, you can steam vegetables, such as cauliflower or asparagus beans, at the same time as the meatballs.
