There are many recipes for making homemade apple jam pie. Someone likes to cook a pie with shortbread dough, someone - with puff pastry without adding yeast. However, the classic recipe involves the use of yeast dough. A ruddy open apple pie looks very nice.

Ingredients

- eggs - 2 pieces;

- sugar - 3 tablespoons;

- vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon;

- potato starch - 1 tablespoon;

- apple jam - 200 grams;

- dry yeast - 2 teaspoons;

- milk - 100 milliliters;

- butter - 2 tablespoons;

- salt;

- vanillin.

To make the cake not very sweet, reduce the amount of sugar a little. Do not add too much vanillin, otherwise a bitter taste may appear.

Preparation

First you need to slightly warm the milk and mix it with sugar. Then you need to dissolve dry yeast in milk. When the yeast has foamed, pour the mixture into a large bowl, add raw eggs, some salt and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Gradually adding the sifted flour, begin kneading the soft dough. When all ingredients are thoroughly mixed, leave the dough to "come up" for about thirty minutes.

Then start kneading the dough, adding butter to it, which must first be melted, cooled and mixed with vegetable oil. The finished dough is covered with a towel and placed in a warm place for about an hour. While the dough is "rising", mix the apple jam with the starch: the filling will become viscous and will not flow over the edges of the cake.

Place the dough on a floured table. Take a baking dish, brush with butter and preheat the oven to 180-200 ° C. Roll out the dough into a thin layer - about a centimeter thick - and place it in the mold so that it protrudes from the edges. To cut off excess dough, which is useful for decorating the cake, roll around the edges of the form with a rolling pin.

Spread the filling on the dough in an even layer. From the remaining dough, cut into long thin strips (or “roll out” thin strands). Decorate the cake by arranging the dough in the shape of a wire rack.

You can make your open apple pie original by laying out strips of dough in a random pattern.

Wrap the edges of the dough over the cake, form a border. Then beat the egg yolk and brush over the dough. Place the pie in the oven until golden brown.
